Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kevin Clifton was born in Waltham near Grimsby on 13 October 1982. Ahead of his appearance on Who Do You Think You Are?, here's five things you might not know about the star...
1. Competing for greatness
Kevin Clifton began his career as a professional dancer and has received many impressive titles. He was a Youth World Number 1 and four-time British Latin Champion.
2. Reached the top
In 2007, Kevin Clifton was at the top of his game and ranked 7th in the whole world for competitive dancing.
3. Retired at 25
After retiring from competition at 25, Clifton moved on to the theatre and in 2010, made his musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing: The Musical.
4. Star of Strictly
Kevin joined Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer in 2013 and appeared in the final of Strictly every year from 2013-2018 except for 2017. He left the show in 2020 with the announcement that he needed to focus on other elements of his career.
5. Found love on the dance floor
Clifton met his current partner Stacey Dooley, journalist and television presenter, on the sixteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 when they were paired together. The couple were the series winners. They have been together ever since and welcomed their first child together in January 2023.
