What is The Wedding Detectives?
Radio 4 programme The Wedding Detectives rests on a brilliantly simple premise. Charlotte Sibtain collects old wedding photographs, which she buys from online auction sites, car boot sales and antiques fairs. She posts the images on Instagram, in part a way of rescuing the past.
Now, with journalist Cole Moreton, she co-presented The Wedding Detectives, in which the two look for the stories behind the photographs and, if possible, reunite them with the families of those pictured.
Following its first series in 2020, The Wedding Detectives has now returned to Radio 4. Series 1 of the programme is now available on BBC Sounds, and upcoming episodes from the new series include the wartime wedding of a pilot praised by Winston Churchill and a Jamaican couple’s wedding in the 1950s.

The next two episodes of The Wedding Detectives will be broadcast at 8pm on Monday 29 November and Monday 6 December.
