Historian and broadcaster Lucy Worsley will delve into her family history in a new podcast.

A Family History Of… Wartime Women is the latest podcast from family history company Findmypast.

The four-part series will follow Lucy and genealogist Jen Baldwin as they dive into Findmypast’s records, including census, birth, marriage, death, crime, school, military and newspaper records, to trace the life of Lucy’s grandmother Edna, from her birth in Birmingham in 1911 to her life during the First and Second World Wars.

The first episode will air on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube on 3 March 2026.

Lucy Worsley said: “Exploring my grandmother’s life has shown me how much of women’s history remains hidden in plain sight. Her story is dramatic, painful, surprising — and yet in many ways completely ordinary for her generation.”

The series will be followed by A Family History Of… The Irish Famine in April, with Trinity Dublin historian Fiona Fitzsimons. Future series will focus on the 1926 general strike and the American Revolutionary War.
