One of Britain’s oldest independent companies is appealing for memorabilia ahead of its 250th anniversary next year.
Kent Brushes was founded by William Kent in 1777, with ownership of the company later passing to his sons. It is still manufacturing and selling hair and personal care brushes today.
To celebrate 250 years of continuous British manufacturing, Kent Brushes said it was appealing for members of the public to look for memorabilia from its history, including newspaper cuttings, photographs, documents and old brushes.
A Kent Brushes spokesperson said: “As part of our celebrations and the curation of a brand-new historical archive, we hope to uncover memories relating to our London factories in Great Marlborough Street, 75 Farringdon Road and Bethnal Green, as well as the old Victorian factory that once stood on the site in Apsley in 1901, before the current factory replaced it in the early 1980s.”
