You may be able to find parish records in a number of places, both in England and Ireland and also online.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints website has placed a number of records online and they can be searched on the above site. It is also worth searching on their record search pilot to see if they have placed a collection onto this site, Depending on where you live you may be able to visit one of their Family History libraries. The main one for the UK is in London and you can search their Catalogue here,

• Other online sources

A number of websites are available to search for parish records online now. The largest one is which has over 17 million records online. It is run by the Irish Family History Foundation and can be searched free of charge after registering although payment is required to view a record. A large number of records are also available to search on also has placed some parish records online to search. It is always worth seeing if you can find a local genealogy site for the county too to see what records they might have available.

• The National Library of Ireland, The NLI has microfilmed the vast majority of Roman Catholic Registers in Ireland. They can be searched by visiting the Library in Dublin but it is not possible to obtain copies. The NLI has records going up to 1880 for most localities. The PRONI ( has the equivalent for Northern Ireland.
