There are now many fairground enthusiast forums and fan sites on the internet that may help with your research.

Historically, the main associations – from the original Friendship Circle of Showland Fans to the current day Fairground Association of Great Britain – published quarterly magazines on all aspects of fairground history including information pertaining to individual families, local fairs and interviews with showmen of the day.

They can be contacted online, and back copies of relevant publications including the range of books they have published can be purchased.

Other groups or forums can be found purely online, with All the Fun of the Fair having a dedicated section of its forum devoted to family history enquiries.
