What is RootsTech?

RootsTech is the world’s largest family history conference. It’s run by FamilySearch, the world’s largest free family history website and has taken place annually in Salt Lake City, Utah from 2011 to 2020. Family historians from around the world attend to watch talks by family history experts and celebrity keynote speakers, learn skills at family history workshops and visit family history companies and organisations in the Expo Hall. In 2021 and 2022, in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it was replaced with RootsTech Connect, a free global virtual event. In 2023, it returned as a hybrid in-person and online event.

When is RootsTech 2024?

The next RootsTech event is RootsTech 2024, which will take place from 29 February to 2 March at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. In-person visitors will have access to over 250 exclusive sessions and over 120 exhibitors and sponsors in the Expo Hall, while over 200 sessions will be available online.
