From the office: Hello from Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE!
Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine editor Sarah Williams says a brief hello from the Birmingham NEC
I know I’ve said this before, but I really love Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE. There is something very special about seeing thousands of other family historians milling around.
There’s an energy in the hall created by expectation, discovery and a shared sense of purpose. Everybody’s story is different but our goal is the same, to uncover more about the people who came before us.
This is going to be a short blog because we’re extremely busy on the stand but I just wanted to share my excitement and say thank you to everyone who has come to our stand today.
Thank you to the regular subscribers who have come up to say how much they enjoy the magazine, thank you to the newbies who have trusted us with their money and have left the stand with a goodie bag and a subscription, and thank you to the lady who came up to me and offered me a cup of tea. I clearly looked like I needed one!
A lot of work goes into making an event like this happen. I get to see some of it but my involvement doesn’t go much beyond putting the showguide together and chairing some of the talks, but even these small elements are hard work. Some people work all year on this event!
So, for those of you coming tomorrow or Saturday, please come by and say hello. If we’re not completely rushed off our feet, we may even be able say to hello back!
