This week's
TV & radio
2 – 7 February

Pick of the week
Bullets, Boots and Bandages
Thursday 2 Feburary, 9pm BBC Four

There's been a definite military theme in the Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine offices in the past couple of weeks, as we soldier on with our British military special (on sale later this month). The television schedulers are getting in on the act, too, with this new look at how campaigns were won or lost based on planning, logistics and back-room decisions. Tonight's first episode explores the importance of keeping fighting men fed and watered.

Call the Midwife
Sunday 5 February, 8pm BBC One
Baby-snatching and serious illnesses don't sound like the natural bedfellows of cosy, Sunday evening drama. Yet somehow this series manages to combine the two things in a way that doesn't feel cynical or contrived, keeping the essence of Jennifer Worth's original memoirs in the process.
Bomber Boys
Sunday 5 February, 9pm BBC One
Actor Ewan McGregor here teams up with his brother, Colin, to tell the story of the men who fought in the skies above Europe during the Second World War. Nearly half the crew who flew in RAF bombers died during the conflict, and this account offers a fittingly sobering look at their stories.
