Born on 3 August 1986, Chris Ramsey is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian and presenter of programmes including I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp and Little Mix: The Search. On 20 July 2023, he will trace his family history on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? on BBC One. Here's five things you may not know about the star:

1. Where it all began

Chris began his career as a comedian when he was a student. He hosted a local open-mic night in Newcastle in 2007 and a year later he was nominated for the ‘Chortle Student Comedian of the Year’.

2. University wasn’t right

Chris studied Film and Media at Sunderland University, however, in an interview with ‘Student Blog UK’ Ramsey revealed that he ‘packed in the course about eight weeks before the end’ to pursue a career in comedy.

3. The greatest dancer

In 2019, Chris put on his dancing shoes and made it all the way to the Semi-Finals of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. He impressed the judges so much that he finished in fourth place.

4. Let’s talk

Chris and his wife Rosie Winter host a podcast called Shagged Married, Annoyed. They discuss the ups and downs of life, including relationships, arguments, parenting, growing up and everything in between.

5. Thinking outside the box

In 2022, Ramsey was a contestant on the tv series Taskmaster and finished in second place. In one challenge he had to paint the best picture with only the lipstick on his lips.
