New baptism and burial records online

Family historians with links to the east of England will now be able to explore new avenues in their research thanks to the addition of thousands of baptism and burial records at Findmypast.co.uk.

Among the new additions are baptism records for two of London's East End districts. St Dunstan's Church in Stepney provides returns dating from 1835 to 1848, while those from St George in the East (now in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets) span 1861 to 1877. More than 20,000 records have also been added from Christ Church in Spitalfields, covering the years 1729 to 1795.

Baptisms also feature among a new collection of birth and death records taken from churches around Middlesex. More than 50 parishes are covered, including Ashford, Edgware, Harrow and Twickenham. Dates range from 1639 to 1848, offering an invaluable insight into more than two hundred years of history.

The details have been added as part of Findmypast.co.uk's ongoing digitisation programme, which also features London probate records for surnames starting with A to F, baptism and burial registers for Halifax St John, and a complete dataset for Kent.
