Kate Winslet and Daniel Radcliffe to star in Who Do You Think You Are? 2019

The wait is over! Who Do You Think You Are? returns this summer with a star-studded list of celebrities discovering their family history

Award-winning family history show Who Do You Think You Are? will return to BBC One this summer – with its most impressive ever line-up of famous faces.

A-lister Kate Winslet, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, international media personality and music mogul Sharon Osbourne, James Bond star Naomie Harris, comedian and Have I Got News For You captain Paul Merton, television personality Mark Wright, comedian Katherine Ryan, and comedian Jack Whitehall together with his father Michael Whitehall will unravel their families’ pasts in series 16 of the show.

The long-running family history programme won its second Best Feature BAFTA award last month for series 15, which starred Olivia Colman and Boy George.

Colette Flight, executive producer at WDYTYA? production company Wall to Wall, said: “We’re delighted to have this incredible line-up of stars and to have captured these journeys of discovery as they explore their extraordinary family trees.

“What they uncover is revelatory, moving, often funny and always fascinating.

“Many of our celebrities’ ancestors were caught up in momentous historical events which we are covering for the first time in the series.”

This year’s celebrities will travel to Spain, Sweden, Grenada and Jamaica and uncover stories of war and revolution, diamond trading and cod fishing, an ancestor who was burned at the stake and an assault involving a banjo.
