The camp records reveal that Tamzin’s great grandfather arrived in England in 1913 at the age of 16. To find out more about Adelmo's origins, she heads to Tuscany and meets researcher Maria Laura Frulini at Barga Town Hall, where records of births, deaths and marriages are kept.

Fishburn Cemetery

County Durham

Tamzin visits the cemetery in Fishburn where Adelmo’s son Henry was buried. Lifelong Fishburn resident Bert Draycott tells her that Adelmo bought a field and donated it to the village as a playground for the local children. This was to repay townspeople for covering funeral expenses when Henry died at the age of 13.
