I ordered a copy of a will on the 22nd Aug. It eventually came through today the 5th Nov. Saying they could not find it and I must have provided the wrong information. I only provided the folio number that they have listed! The probate was in London office. Can you go.to the London probate office and try and get a copy yourself does anyone know. I have attached a copy of the entry if that helps.tge 3 entries are for the same person
Thanks jo

Probate Calendar for 1981
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/Ca ... 1#calendar

It's an administration rather than a will.

So what does administration mean at London then? There was no probate? No will? Who did the money go to then that he left? I was hoping to find his beneficiaries mentioned in his will.

Administration means that no will was found and that representatives or solicitors would be allowed to distribute any monies left after burial/cremation and debts to interested parties. There are rules under probate on who should get monies calculated to their relation to the deceased, e.g. son, daughter, grandchildren.

To add to what Junkers says, the current rules for Intestacy are on https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/famil ... intestacy/

I have a feeling that the rules haven't changed for a while.

Hi Peter .
no I got nothing except a letter saying they could not tray anything I quoted the number shown in the attached picture and date shown at the top of the page which is 1981. The gov.yk seems to have a date on the 23rd Feb 1981 linked to this entry. I m not sure where that came from?
So no grant. What would the grant tell me?
