Is it possible that Bonaventure could have been a widower when he married Elizabeth in 1665?
Pity we can't see the Coventry marriage, though back then scant info was given.
If he was, then he may have been the Bonaventure who was bap 1622 at Ryton!
And Joane Dafforn, ye wife of Bonaventure Dafforn, was buried 23 April 1662, at Ryton
Another complication is that the Binley parish registers only survive from 1660.

In his will dated 29 Nov 1695, and proved 23 April 1696, Bonaventure Daffern names his two daughters Hannah and Bridget and his son Samuel Daffern. Samuel is named as executor.
But no mention of a daughter Elizabeth.

Hi Ian,
This info is really helpful. Will need more time to look into these children. Its Samuel I'm really interested in.

Can't find baptisms for Samuel, Hannah & Bridget as yet. Have Elizabeth bap Bagington 3 Apr 1669 d/o Bonaventure & Elizabeth Dafforne; then her possible marriage 12 May 1691 to Richard Smyth at Hampton in Arden, Warks so she wouldn't necessarily benefit in her father's will in 1695 as she already married (maybe a long shot here!)

Bonaventure Daffron, son of William Daffron, grandson of William Daffron bap. Ryton-on-Dunsmore 3 March 1621. His father William was Churchwarden. He married twice, firstly Joyce, then Elizabeth Wright in Holy Trinity Coventry. Bonaventure and his father are listed in the Protestation Returns, on line.

Best Wishes

Elizabeth

Sorry his father married Joyce. Bonaventure Daffron's first marriage was to Joan Hannes. I located two children. Also located Bonaventure in the Hearth Tax Returns
