Hamlet Millet(t) b c1768-1772 Norfolk; d 1852 Cheltenham

I have been searching for ages for the baptism of Hamlet Millet(t), born c 1768-72. He died 1852 in Cheltenham. He was a miniature portrait painter and an acquaintance of Lord Byron.
In 1802 he married Mary Berdmore Allen in St Mary's, Nottingham. Immediately prior to the marriage he was resident in the parish of St George, Westminster. Their son Hamlet William was baptised 31. 8 1803 in St Mary's, Nottingham.
In 1841 (age 70) and 1851 (age 82) he was living in Cheltenham (widowed) with his son hamlet W and his wife Anne (nee Thompson) and their children. In the 1851 census his place of birth is shown as 'near Norwich', which isn't terribly helpful! How near is 'near: 2 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles... especially when you're telling someone more than 100 miles away who may be unfamiliar with Norfolk.
In the 18th century and well into the 19th my Millett family are to be found in several villages south east of Norwich, including Bramerton, Kirby Bedon and Framingham Pigot. (Some them then moved west of Norwich to Elsing.)
There is a family tradition of the name Hamlet for boys. Most Hamlets called one of the their sons Hamlet, and some of the brothers of Hamlets also called one of their sons Hamlet, so the family is full of Hamlet Milletts! (Also Millet/Millatt.)
I know quite a bit about the elusive Hamlet and his family but until I can find his baptism and the names of his parents/siblings, I can't see if/where he fits into my tree.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The website http://www.freereg.org.uk has this baptism entry:
Hamlet Millit bpt 31/10/1768, St Andrew, Framingham Pigot, Norfolk, father John, mother Elizabeth.

Checking for others bpt at St Andrew, with parents John & Elizabeth Millit, brought up these entries:
Elizabeth 11/7/1761
Mary 25/5/1763
John 10/6/1764
Frances 2/2/1766
Rebecca 24/3/1767
(Hamlet 21/10/1768)
William 17/6/1770
Ann 20/3/1772

And a possible marriage, same church - John Millet married Elizabeth Smyth 28/4/1760 by banns. Bride's name written as Smith next to her mark, witnesses James Taylor & Thomas Wurr.

Thanks 'sdup26' for your reply. I have this Hamlet in my tree already, but married to Sarah Herne 6.3.1792 at Cringleford, with 4 children that I know of (b 1793,94,98 and 99 all in Framingham Pigot). I have not found the burials of hamlet or Sarah, but since there are no children after 1799 (unless there are some I don't know about) it's possible that he then went to London and ended up marrying Mary B Allen, but somehow it doesn't seem to fit, which is why I have assumed that there is another Hamlet apart from this one born around the same time. Of course, it's possible that this is the Hamlet that went to London and it's a different one that married Sarah Herne!

Judy, sorry but I have only just seen your reply! The e-mail I usually get when there's response to one of my 'posts' must have gone astray, and today I was just looking back at my 'posts' and spotted your reply. Was the Harold you mentioned, Harold Wake Millett born c1871 Hampshire, married Frances Bere in Bude, Cornwall? If so, yes it's the same family. Hamlet (grandfather of Harold) was buried in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in Jan 1852. Are these relatives of yours? I live in Cheltenham and have quite a lot of info on him and photos of various places they lived etc. BUT, I still have not been able to confirm who his parents were, so still - though I'm sure he's linked - have not been able to add him to my tree - very frustrating!! If you can add anything to help, that would be most welcome!
