John Male Jackson, Annfield Plain, Durham

Postby katebenn » Sat Nov 23, 2013 12:02 pm

I'm trying to find a death record for John Male Jackson b22 Apr 1893 in Annfield Plain, Durham the youngest s/o John George Jackson & Sarah Ann Hardy. He was my maternal grandmother's youngest brother.
I have him in census 1901 & 1911 in Annfield Plain, Durham
He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Durham Light Infantry.
I have found an entry for him in London Gazette for 20 Apr 1915.
In Jul 1915 he was the informant for his father's death at 5 Durham Road, Annfield Plain
There is an entry for him in 'Short history Annfield Plain & Stanley': 1918 John Jackson, Annfield Plain missing
Also his name is on Annfield Plain War Memorial
The family always said that he was drowned
That's all I know; Can anyone help?
