Royal Marine in the Crimean War

Postby Saffron-venus » Sun Sep 15, 2013 5:55 pm

I have discovered my g g grandfather, John Bunton, was a Marine in the Crimean war and received the Legion of Honour. I am interested to learn why he would have received the L of H but, although I can find plenty of documentation showing he was entitled to it, I can't find any information on what he did to receive the medal.

Does anybody have any idea where I could possibly obtain this information?

Thank you :)

No, but suggest you use the Victorian Wars Forum - someone there is sure to know.
