Indian Army

We are trying to trace a George Walter Elson who we know was a Staff Sergeant in the Indian Army who died in the late 1920's. Where could we find his service records i.e enlistment, service and death and possibly where buried. We have tried the FIBIS website without success.

Is he the man who died at Poona in 1928?
Name: George Elson
Gender: Male
Burial Date: 25 Nov 1928
Burial Place: Poona, Bombay, India
Death Date: 25 Nov 1928
Age: 40
Birth Date: 1888
Marital Status: Unknown
GS Film number: 527400
These details came from http://www.familysearch.org - there does not appear to be a corresponding marriage or baptism in the records in India that have been transcribed to FamilySearch. If you think this is the right person then you should either obtained the microfilm to view the original record or contact the British Library for a copy of it as the burial register should record George Elson's occupation - in the case of soldiers it usually records rank and regiment which are needed for further research.

Thank you very much, this is the person I'm trying to find. He was married in England to my aunt.
