Thanks for the tip. It's interesting to find that Elsie tried to keep the family together even though they were separated so young.

Re: Lesley Sharp & Charles Patient

Can't agree with the historian's (Eddie Hicks?) conclusion from the marriage certificate that Charles Patient was NOT William Bush's natural father. Having dealt with scores of illegitimate birth records and subsequent marriages, in my experience the fact that he was named in the record at all is proof positive that he WAS the natural father. Otherwise the space for a father's name would have been struck through. He was almost certainly present at the ceremony and admitted his parentage. Had he not been there, the groom's say-so would not have been accepted.
Can someone at the BBC please reassure Lesley?

Just wondered if George Maybury was the younger brother of William Maybury the tragic Canadian Soldier who was remembered in the Trench Detectives programme The Barnardo Boy .... thought I recognised the children in the photograph..

Yes, they are the same children that were covered in the Trench Detective series. It's been very amazing to have 2 of the three orphans, and the two having passed so long ago, being part of these types of programs.
