That time and this time

Postby Bruce Hammerson » Wed Jul 17, 2013 12:13 pm

There is a huge difference between the life style of 1881 people and 2013 people. In every sense we have progressed more that our ancestors. If we talk about construction field then previously we didn't use to have high-tech machines for building roads, skyscrapers, etc. But now, we do! I used construction as an example of how much we people have progress since 1881. You share your thoughts in terms of some other example. For instance, fashion! :)

Construction has 'moved on' in terms of machinery and safety etc but I would say we've taken several steps back in terms of attention to detail, robust long term design and materials. The majority of building are built for speed and cost, return on capital employed...

We could learn a lot from our past. :?
