Suicide

Postby tracey351 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 7:26 pm

I have the death certificate of an ancestor from Walsall, date of death 11 August 1882, where the cause of death is recorded as 'suicide during a fit of temporary insanity.' The informant is listed as the Coroner for Walsall and it states that an inquest was held on 12 August 1882. How would I go about finding out more about this death? Would it have been reported in the local press?

Try putting the name and 'suicide' in a search engine. I did this and found a press report for the suicide of my great uncle which also mentions that both of his parents killed themselves too.
Looking for information about:- Harpers of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire. Whaymans and Goodings of Suffolk and Essex. Jacques of Leicestershire. Hudds, Pontings and Partridges of Gloucestershire.
