Can anyone help me I am trying to trace the parents of Richard Ranger married to Mary. They had 3 children Anne chr 15.2.1801, Sarah chr 20.2.1803 and Charles chr 27.12.1807 all at Cheam, Surrey, England. The origins of my Rangers are from Cheam so I would like to link these in.

Hello

Looking on Family Search there appears to be only one marriage for Richard Ranger around the time of the children's birth and that is to Mary Martin on 25th October 1798 at St Anne's in Lewes Sussex. He would appear to have been christened on 13th May 1770 in Laughton Sussex, parents Thomas and Sarah.

But! and there is always a but, there is a birth of a Richard RAINGER on 5th November 1774 christened 9th December 1774, father Richard Rainger mother Elizabeth, at All Saints in Lewes Sussex which ties in with Richard's marriage to Mary.

Not sure if this is a help or a hindrance but good luck anyway.

Sorry to butt in but the marriage record mentionned above states Richard is of Ringmer
and Richard and Mary had their son William there in 1799. I haven't found any Rangers
in Cheam who were born in Sussex I'm afraid.

Re Richard Ranger

Blast I pressed draft and lost the whole painstaking information. If anyone out there is still interested I had someone to help with the research and he found:

Richard Ranger b. 1759 in Cheam married Mary Badcock b. 1769 in Epsom, on 6th April 1795. They had six children, all born in Cheam:

William 1798
Ann 1801
Sarah 1803
George 1805
Henry 1806
Charles 1807

Richard's parents were William and Mary but I don't know where they were born, sorry.

fionaeve do you think we might be related - my granny was a Ranger from Herts.
