This photo shows my Great Grand Aunt: Kate Diggens 1864-1942 (elderly lady in centre), Albert Pinnock 1861-1916 (Elderly gent with beard in back row) and their family.
They had three daughters born 1888, 1890, 1892, then two sons born 1896, 1902, a daughter born 1904 and lastly a son born 1908. I'm pretty certain that they are all in the picture but I don't know who is who.

I would like to find out if anybody can tell me:

The approximate year the picture was taken.
Many of the people are wearing what appears to be snowdrops(?) in their lapel, was this a special day?
Two of the men in the back row are in uniform, can anybody identify them?
Are the medals being worn identifiable?

I will be very grateful for any input which may help me to place this picture within my tree.

Tony Baker, Bristol

Don't know if it's just me, Tony, but I can't see any picture.

Looking at the ladies' clothes, I would say that it's in the 1890s possibly early 1900s. I'm not sure about the medals though, I can't get a close-up of them. If I'm right about the time, could they be from the Boer War?

I'm not sure of the significance of the snowdrop. The young lad on the right looks like he has a sprig of heather in his lapel and the man at the back, second from right, looks as if he has an entirely different flower. Must be a spring flower but I can't see what.
