George Simpson a retired Tailor, aged 75. Died 30 Sept 1896 at 51 Monkgate, St Maurice, York. James E Simpson (son) of Ings House, Rawcliffe, York (Informant).

I had hoped this might be connected to my Simpson's but i think not - Looks like this one has a connection in Mansfield. Mine came from Oswaldkirk - though one married a Tailor's daughter from York, thought there could be a connection.

I do hold a John Simpson’s death cert that is no good to me right now: Died 20 Nov 1870, aged 72 Workhouse, Anlaby Road Hull. He was a pensioner from the First Regiment of Foot Guards – the informant Jane Blashill of the Workhouse. I had thought he came from the York area but clearly I obtained an incorrect cert.
