This is all I could find:-

Pedmore Common, in the north-west of Pedmore parish, and close to the road from Kidderminster to Stourbridge, is surrounded by a race-course.

Stourbridge Golf Clbu was formed in 1892 and originally used a nine-hole course all laid out on the former Pedmore racecourse.

Cannot really add much to what has been written already

The racecourse was known as the Stourbridge Racecourse, based in the parish of Pedmore. By 1871 it had closed and was already known as the old Stourbridge Racecourse. On Easter Monday 1871 the First Battalion Worcestershire Rifle Volunteers held a field day there.

Further to my earlier post I think I have established that the last meeting held at Stourbridge Racecourse, Pedmore, was in 1858 with the grandstand being dismantled and removed in 1860. There was an attempt to revive the racecourse in 1866 but this does not seem to heve been successful (source Berrow's Worcester Journal 1858-1866).

Thank you.

My curiosity was aroused while being driven down Racecouse Lane a few days ago by a relative who suspected that there must have been a racecourse in the vicinity but nobody he had asked knew anything about it

Just might be worth contacting the Jockey Club. I don't know how helpful they might be but I'd bet they have archives.

From google the Worcester Directory for 1855 lists a George Grazebrook, solicitor Pedmore racecourse and Stourbridge. Perhaps it was he who sold/redeveloped the course? May be worth following up. Have you tried TNA? There may be something there.

I would be visiting the Golf Club, as it now stands where the Racecourse used to be. Golf Clubs are famous for having loads of old, large photos on the walls. Some of these may even give you a look at how Pedmore used to look in the late 1800's when the Golf Course was built. Some of the older members may also have passed down some history of the Race Course.

I would also try the Pedmore Sporting Club Trust Fund, they may also have some knowledge of the Race Course.

The Dudley Archives and Local History Service also have several documents that you can view. Their address is;
Mount Pleasant Street

Good luck,
