I live in Pedmore and believe that the racecourse was used for greyhound racing and the pub at the end of the road, which is named The Greyhound, is where the race track was. Also, the road which follows on from Racecourse Lane is called Greyhound Lane.

Disregard my previous post please! Not dogs but horses! Here's some information about the racecourse.

STOURBRIDGE Is nearly an oval something short of a mile the first part from the Winning chair s on a descent then a flat for about 300 yards up to a slight short hill opposite the Winning chair then a straight flat to the last turn about the last quarter of a mile a good straight run in with a gradual rise to the finish
