Westmoreland Pub, Eldon Place, Liverpool

Postby ElizabethN » Tue Aug 03, 2010 7:19 am

Does anyone have any local info on this pub and the surrounding area, during the 1880's in particular. I know it was badly bombed during WW2 and the area has since been rebuilt. James McLean was thought to be a barman at the pub but I am having trouble confirming this. Any pointers would be very welcome as I am completely lost atm.

I've not managed to find the pub in Eldon Place, only references to one on Scotland Road, which Eldon Place is quite close to.

A bit of history - it is known as Dolly Hickeys http://www.scottiepress.org/projects/famhist.htm

The National Archives have records from it.

I hope it's the right pub.
