Some other free sites that may be useful however, like freeBmd.org.uk they are not all complete. There is freereg.org.uk which has details on parish registers, freecen.org.uk which has census details from 1841 to 1891 and lastly familysearch.org which has all sorts of records. You may be lucky, you never know.

If you belong to your local library you may be able to book a session on their computers which access some sites including newspapers. Joining the library is usually free so is a useful addition to your options. You could also seek out your nearest Family Centre which is the Church of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). They have sessions that you can access all their records that you would find on Familysearch.org.
