Hi

Not sure if this is going to sound too obvious but have you tried ringing around local cemetries in the Salford area and/or local Councils (Parish/Borough, not County). Our parish council is where you ring in my area (not Salford though). I've also seen plans of cemetery plots at local record offices, so you could also try there.

You did say 'resting' place in your original post, so no need to apologise.

Hope that's of help.

Hi

Since my previous post I've come across the following websites you may wish to try, I haven't looked at them myself however you may find them of use.

[link=http://www.interment.net]www.interment.net[/link] - online cemetery records

[link=http://www.findagrave.com]www.findagrave.com[/link] - online cemetery records

[link=http://www.memorialinscriptions.org.uk]www.memorialinscriptions.org.uk[/link] -National archive of memorial inscriptions.

[link=http://www.bookofremembrance.eu/books-of-remembrance]www.bookofremembrance.eu/books-of-remembrance[/link] - 31 on-line

You could also try the federation of family history societies at [link=http://www.ffhs.org.uk]www.ffhs.org.uk[/link]

There is an article in Practical Family History May 2009 No 139 edition about Cemeteries and Crematoria which you may find helpful - it is also where I found some of these addresses.
