Incorrect Dates

Postby Rick Simmons » Tue Apr 14, 2009 7:26 am

While searching the 1901 Census I found the ages of my Great Great Grandparents as 58 and 54. Those should be the ages in the 1891 census. I found my Great Great Grandmother in the 1911 a widow and age 74.
What are the chances that the 1891 data got into the 1901?
This is just a point of interest.

Perhaps its a transcription error or perhaps they are just repeating what they had told the enumerator 10 years previously. Just an idea. I suspect there is a perfectly simple explaination that someone here may know.
