Thomas Parker and Bridget Parker

Postby dulcimer_dave » Mon Mar 16, 2009 3:23 pm

My 3x Great-grandfather? and 3xgreat-grandmother moved to Maidstone between 1817 and 1845. I know this as my 2xgreat grandfather also Thomas Parker met and had twins by the widow Susanna Elizabeth Hodges (Maiden Name Ackworth) in 1845, registered in Maidstone in 1845. Young Thomas at that time was a musician and in the 1851 census he lived with his mother and sister. I cannot find them in the 1841 census at all.

What ages and birthplaces do you have for them?
The only Thomas Parker I can find in Maidstone in 1841 is age 5, with Frederick Parker age 7, and Edwin Parker age 2. They were at Bower Lodge, Maidstone, and there are no adults listed with them.

Thanks for the response. As I said my 2x great grandfather was living with his mother and sister in Maidstone, in 1845. I do not know if my 3x great grandfather was still alive at that time or if he died previous to 1845 and even the 1841 census. The Parkers originated in Bury St Edmonds in Suffolk. Thomas and Bridget were married in Bury St Edmonds in 1797. They had a son in 1802 born in Bury St Edmonds also Thomas. A daughter Susanna was born in Liverpool around 1810-14 but she was christened in Bury St Edmonds. The next time we meet the family there is only the mother and son and daughter in the 1851 census, in Maidstone. But I have found out that young Thomas met and had twins by Susanna Elizabeth Hodges, a widow and the birth certificate says the address was Under-the Cliffe, Maidstone 1845.
