There are all kinds of stalls.

You can find books, postcards (churches, ancestral villages), Family History CDs, custom charts. Most family history magazines have a stall there and you can often get back issues for knock down prices. Most of the family history websites have stands and you can ask their advice etc.

Plus you have all the talks and lectures going on at the same time. There are displays etc. I saw Ian Hislop last year and Colin Jackson and Nick Barratt. I really enjoyed it and shall definitely go - best family history show I've ever been to - even the Americans were impressed! [:D]

Cheers, FHA

There was also lots of general history/heritage content too - military; antiques; archaelogy and a section on house history with some interesting talks by people like Jonathan Foyle.

I'd like to hear more on house history as this is a fascinating area.

What would other people like to see/hear at this event?

Hi 'quests' - the pencil is STILL being used ! [:D] You keep changing your name !

The WDYTYA show is well worth a visit - 2007 was most enjoyable, and if they can expand into 2008, then great.

I know it's six months away - but does anyone have any 'early' details on the 2008 Show ?

Will there still be the excellent speakers like David Starkey etc etc ?

I've just checked out the website for the event - not much info yet but looks like the event will be much bigger as it's in the grand hall at olympia.

I've heard on the 'grapevine 'that a big military area is planned and that Peter and Dan Snow will be there and also that Tony Robinson will be speaking.
