Haven't located a c1837 birth/baptism for George Davis in County Cavan. However, there is an 1841 record (with image) on Family Search for a Samuel Davis in Cavan. According to the image he died in 1837 of "rheumatism". He may or may not be related to your George.

Name: Samuel Davis
Event Type: Census
Event Date: 1841
Event Place: Killashandra, Cavan, Ireland
Townland: Drumbery
Parish: Killashandra
Barony: Tullyhunco
County: Cavan
Age: 45
Occupation: Weaver
Relationship to Head of Household: Husband

Do you have a subscription to Ancestry or Find My Past? If not, Family Search is free to join (www.familysearch.org) and it has census records, as well.

If you want to search early Irish census records, refer to this link for guidance: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/help/history.html

The 1837 death for Samuel Davis is attached to the 1841 census record image on Family Search. The form which records his death is entitled "Return of Members of this family...who have died while residing with this family since 6 June 1831".

For the few 1841 Ireland census returns that remain, it appears that family members, who had died since 1831, were recorded on the form mentioned above.

Family Search has this census record for Samuel's widow Cristinia Davis, which includes their 3 children.

Name: Cristinia Davis
Event Date: 1841
Event Place: Killashandra, Cavan, Ireland
Age: 40
Marital Status: Widowed
Occupation: Spinner
Education Level: Can Read
Birth Year (Estimated): 1801
Marriage Date: 1823
Children: Mary Ann (age 12), Samuel (age 9), and Arabella (age 6).

Based on the details you've posted, it doesn't appear this couple are your George's parents.

I think my date may be wrong for George birth it should be 1825 as he died in 1887 at 62 years does this sound right to you.
