FOI in Scotland

Postby junkers » Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:13 pm

Opposition parties at the Scottish Parliament have failed to cut the clause on Scotland's Coronavirus Bill 2020 extending by quite a bit the time people can extend FOI deadlines, in England the Information Commissioner is allowing an extension. There was a tie in the votes in the Edinburgh Parliament and the Presiding Officer (the Scottish equivalent to the Speaker at Westminster) voted it through. A bit strange to need legislation in Scotland but at least the Coronavirus measures are planned to last for six months and not two years as down here in England.
