Eight Lancashire Lads clog dancing group.

Postby livinginthepast. » Thu Mar 19, 2020 11:56 pm

I have just started working on my family history . I understand that a member of the Clegg family joined the Eight Lancashire Lads Clog Dancing Group which toured the music hall, at one stage Charlie Chaplin was a member when he was 12.
does anybody know where I could find out more information on this possibly through individuals who know of the group or an organization that deals with music hall history ?

My ancestors, Twins William & James Cawley (born 1888, Golborne, Lancashire) were part of 'The Eight Lancashire Lads'.
I posted back in 2012, and you can visit the replies I received by following link:-

I’m not at my PC just now, so can’t be more forthcoming about what I found out :D

NB I’ve since found out that the twins were wrong to be in my tree, so have been deleted :D
