George Arthur Noble, c1860. Married Ellen Garnham 29/01/1882, ipswich, Suffolk, he was 21. He lists his father as James Noble (deceased), basket maker on the marriage certificate. On the 1891 census he says he's listed as George A, born Braintree, Essex. 1901 census his down as Arthur Noble, born Braintree, essex. 1911 - George Arthur, Braintree, Essex. I have what i believe to be his death certificate, 14/09/1921 age 62, Ipswich, Suffolk. I can't find a birth, baptism or any other information on previous census'. I have found several James Noble. 1871 census Ipswich Union Workhouse - James Noble, inmate, age 14, scholar, born Ipswich, Suffolk. Coud this be a brother to George? 1861 Census Ipswich Union Workhouse - James Noble, pauper, widow, age 74, basket maker, born St Clements, Ipswich. Under him is Edward Noble, pauper his child, age 10, in the school, born Dalham, Suffolk. On this census were also the names Joseph Noble age 7, born in the workhouse, Mary Noble age 17, born Bury St Edmunds, and Eliza Noble, age 12, born Bury St Edmunds. 1851 Census East Suffolk Hospital - James Noble, married, age 40, basket maker, born Dalham, Suffolk. 1851 Census - James Noble, widowed, age 62, basket maker, born Ipswich, Suffolk... living at 132 Upper Brook Street Ipswich with his servant Sarah Buckingham, age 23, and her daughter Harriet Buckingham, age 2. After a bit of digging I find a birth entry for Harriet Noble Buckingham in 1849 which i have now ordered. I can't find any birth for George, or find him on previous census. I have no idea who his mother is either. I ordered a death certificate for a James Noble, 19/11/1863 union workhouse, Ipswich, age 75, occupation basketmaker. Informant is Louisa Abbott, present at the death, union workhouse ipswich. Can anyone help?

I haven't followed this through, but could this be the Edward from the 1861 census?

NOBLE, EDWARD ABRAHAM mmn BUCKINGHAM

There is a baptism at the Union House in 1856 for Edward Noble s/o James & Sarah, so that would fit with the Sarah Buckingham with James in the 1851 Census.

I havent looked for Sarah's death, but this birth intrigued me & may be worth following through, if only to rule out:

I've just stumbled on a tree on Ancestry that includes Harriet Keturah Noble Buckingham but has her mother as Sarah Ann Buckman, and one of the other children listed is Angelina "Annie" Clarke

This is Harriet's death:

I have just found the marriage between Sarah Ann Buckingham and James Noble in 1851. This could mean that Sarah was George Arthur's mother too as he was born around 1860. Again, thank you for your help. It has definately got me thinking
