Another piece of confirmation, the daughter born after the Wilsons left Westminster for Battersea
HOBLEY, ADA
Mother's Maiden Surname: CLARK
GRO Reference: 1885 M Quarter in WANDSWORTH Volume 01D Page 664

They were in Battersea by October 1883, the school record of Thos Wm Wilson (wrong birth year!) says 19 Austin Road, father Heny, a Painter.

At 17 Linford Street, Battersea, in 1901
piece 444 folio 162 page 45
Mary Wilson Wid 56 Nurse ? born Kent Chatham(!)
Thomas Wilson 24 Painters Labourer London W
Walter Wilson 20 Masons Labourer London W
Ada Wilson 15 Laundress London Battersea

Walter James Wilson, 20, residence 17 Linford Street, married Daisy Palmer, 19, St Stephen Battersea, 26 May 1901.
His father possibly says Henry, but is unclear on the image, deceased, Painter.
Mother Mary is with Walter and Daisy in 1911.

So I am of the view that the likely parents of Charles William Wilson are the Henry and Mary I have investigated in my posts. It seems they were also known as Hobley, and their son Charles' birth was registered in Westminster in 1869 under that alternative name.

Yes, I should have mentioned that they were transcribed as Wilton on ancestry in the 1891 census when I gave full details of the family earlier :)

The 1939 entry is interesting. I have already given the dates of birth of the others if it was noted on their baptisms. Walter's from school record.

I only have two facts:
2 - He was residing at 49 Henley Street, Battersea, Surrey in the 1901 census

Although the census states he was born in 1868 in Lambeth

In the 1901 census it just says that Charles was born in London.
