I’ve tried all variations, with and without Lefterhand/Lefthand, and haven’t found a Susan, Susanna or Susannah Long, Lorne, Lawn or Lane anywhere. I’m still not sure if that weird Lefterhand is a slipped in description (there’s a poor lad on the Little Saxham PR with ‘bastard’ as an apparent middle name - doubt he used it!) and if so why have others made it her actual name - very cruel! I’m still waiting for a photocopy of the original PR btw...

Finally, I have a copy of the original register entry for this couple's marriage. I thought you might like to know that it doesn't help!

The clerk has written Leftland in one place, Lefterhand very clearly in the next and the woman has signed with a very unclear signature. Ho hum...

This comes up, about 20 miles from Saxham. Variations of the name (with a Suffolk accent) appear as well.
Lafflin, Laffling, Laughflyn and changes to Laughlin. Variations appear in Essex as well.

There are 4 daughters come up to Abraham and Elizabeth, all Non Conformist baptisms. They live at Bilderston(e)

You can't scan the paper and let us have a look can you?

I’ll give it a go ... that family are a good possibility. Thank you for finding them. Now how do I make a link between the individuals?

She certainly hasn't signed as Lefterhand (or Lefterland)
More like Lanes (at least we know the source of that transcription on findmypast!). Unless that fourth letter is meant to be a g.
Mind you, I wouldn't have read her name as Susanna from that signature!

Familysearch has the list, Ancestry has the scans of the pages. It is worth doing a search on there as a lot come up with variants.

I see what you mean about the signature.. as Ian says, looks like Lanes or Lands..

On Familysearch, look around Ringshall, Suffolk. There is an Abraham born 1810 with a daughter Sussanah, his father is John and his father is Abraham. That is near Bilderston.

Be worth spending a few hours linking families and see what comes up.
