What was Samuel Bland's occupation?

Postby phsvm » Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:49 am

In 1851 Samuel K Bland, b. 1823, Newington Surrey is listed with his family at Lisson Grove North, Marylebone.

FMP have transcribed his occupation and that of his wife Sarah as "Load Glass Ment".

I can't even make that out from the original return and have no idea what is meant by Load Glass Ment even if I could read it. Does anyone have an idea?

He's obviously not doing too baclly as the family have a servant and in later years he does go on to have other staff He eventually became a Baptist Minister with 3 wives (not all at the same time!) and at least 11 children.
