Sirett Brick Wall

Postby Will Mundy » Mon Nov 18, 2019 9:59 am

I’m trying to trace one of my ancestors William Sirett, he married Ann Bister in 1780 in Burford, Oxfordshire. They had one daughter Lydia born in 1781 in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, on Lydia’s baptism entry it says daughter of William of Binton Bucks. There is no such place called Binton whether this is Dinton I’m not sure. I can’t seem to find a baptism record for William near Dinton in Buckinghamshire in the right time period nor can I find a burial record for William or Ann. I have found that Ann Bister was born in 1757 in Charlbury which would explain the link there, but William seems to vanish into thin air. Any ideas on how to go forward with tracing the mysterious William Sirett?

There is a Binton but it is in Warwickshire. Have you looked at alternative spellings for Sirett, e.g. Syrat.
