Ridout,Douglas Jack

I am looking for information on Douglas Jack Ridout. He is my maternal uncle. He disappeared from contact with the family during WW2. He was living in London with his wife, May Rosina Mable, and it was assumed in the family that he had perished in the blitz. However, I subsequently found him living, post war, in Beckenham, Kent, and he died there in 1966. I wold appreciate information from anyone who knew him and can give me some background on him. Upon his death his wife moved to Tiverton, Devon and died there in 1975.
Thank you Mervyn Wright

If you look at the 1939 register, you'll find him living in Cambridgeshire.
