Please could anyone tell me if it is possible to pinpoint the position of an airfield B14 Amblie France in July 1944.
Thank you in advance

Hi Windy35,

The airfield was located at, 49°17′21″N 000°29′25″W, (thanks to Google). One of the R.A.F Advanced Landing Grounds built by the Royal Engineers.

Cheers

Dan

I've been doing some more searching and found quite a few links. It appears that this was one of the closer temporary airfields to the Normandy beaches and was certainly being used to evacuate casulaties etc. by the 13th June 1944. It was completed, as much as temporary airfields go, by the 3rd July and had an airstrip length of 1100m.

Cheers
