[quote="Templ4r"]I've downloaded the will and the tithe map and page, but they are too big to attach on here.

I can send you them if you e mail me.

is the Elizabeth buried 1823 his wife?
I've looked at the Banns to see if they crop up but nothing.
1851 says he was born at Corsham, so it looks like shes from another parish or county and they married there.

Hello,
I've got copies of the wills - they give a lot of details that are extra & also confirm some of my previous info.
Yes Elizabeth bur 1823 is Thomas's wife BUT I don't know anything about her - assume her birth is c1781 from death age of 42 BUT don't have maiden name or baptism.

The Genealogist

20 july 1837

are Thomas parents Matthias and Margret?

With him being a quite prominent man I've had a look at the newspapers but Hibbards don't really appear until late 1880s onwards.

As Betty was born 1781( by the burial date) and if she was born there, there are loads of Elizabeths but only 2 Bettys born 1781. Betty Little and Betty Woodman.

Betty Little married John White at Corsham 29/6/1806, so It's not her.

Might be worth keeping a note of Betty Woodman as I can't find her marriage or death yet.

Thomas's great granfather also Thomas Hibbard was Corsham Parish Clerk 1719 until 1752; I've seen several marriage licences that he signed during his office.
