Mary Ann Weeden was born in Shoreditch or thereabouts in 1855, the daughter of Frederick Weeden, a shoemaker, and Mary Ann Weeden, a shoe binder. I believe that Mary Ann's mothers maiden name was Southey, as this crops up in later births. It is also the name given of the GRO records for her siblings.
In 1861, the family was living at 10 Virginia Row, Bermondsey. Frederick (32), Mary Ann (31), Frederick (18), Walter (11), Mary Ann (6) and William (4). [RG9 319 79 62].
In 1871, the family had moved to Claremont Place, Edmonton. Frederick (52), Mary Ann (41), Walter (21), Mary Ann (16), William (14), Jane (9) and Arthur (7).
Mary Ann married John MARDELL in 1873 at Bethnal Green. The story of their subsequent relationship has been aired in this forum in the past. What interests me at the moment is the early years of Mary Ann's life. In particular, I cannot find a birth certificate for her nor a baptism, though this is possible for her siblings. The 1855 DoB taken from the census seems reasonable as their is an appropriate gap between the birth of Emanuel [Q1 1853 Bethnal Green 1c 245] and William [Q4 1856 St James, Westminster 1a 306].
Help with finding her birth certificate and subsequent baptism would be welcomed.

Disregard the FMP baptism record. According to Ancestry, the surname is Kutzner.

Mo - many thanks. Yes I knew about Adelia. Other siblings include: Walter 1850, John 1851, Emanuel 1853, William 1856, Adelia 1858, Thomas 1860, Jane 1861, Arthur 1863 and Ernest 1865. GRO references exist for all of the above, the only exception being for Mary Ann in 1855.
