James Dallimore (1760? - 1827)

Postby Artognou » Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:19 pm

Hi everyone,

For a while now I have been trying to do some work on my 6th great grandfather, James Dallimore, who was born circa 1760 (according to the death record) and died in 1827.
I'm completely unsure of where he was born, simply because I just can't find anything about him, but he died in South Wraxall, Wilts in 1827, which is also where he spent more of his life and where he had 8 children by 3 wives and an illegitimate son with another woman, very busy as you can see!

I have tried to look in neighbouring counties, but with no success and I am descended from his first marriage to a woman called Elizabeth (b.unk - d.1795, South Wraxall), this is a marriage I can't find, even though they had four children together.

If anyone can help in any way, I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks in advance,

Alex.

Hi Mo,

Many thanks for looking for me, I have one of those social records before from South Wraxall, but there's a couple of new ones I've not seen before!

I don't think that the James from North Bradley is mine, but I will look further into James born in Seend, he is a definite possibility, but I'm still unsure, because his oldest child (that I know of, and from whom I am descended), George, was born in 1788 in South Wraxall.
Would this mean that I might to look for a marriage license, instead of a normal record?
Because he would have been 19 at George's birth (if he's the James born in Seend).

Many thanks once again!
