Tracing father's RAF records

Postby houstonfamilytree » Sun Jul 28, 2019 3:42 pm

Hi, first post, please be gentle with me.
I am the last of my family, and would like to find details of my father's RAF record.
As far as i understand, he was ground crew for the planes, and probably somewhere in England, although he was Scottish.
His name was David Houston, born 22.6.1921 in Scotland, either in Blantyre, Bothwell, or Hamilton. He moved to England in the late fifties just before i was born, and died on 06.12.1975 in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
My late brother had tried to do some research, and thought he may have been based in Lincolnshire.
Thanks in advance for any help

Try gov.uk copy service records. I know Army records are there and if RAF records aren't there should be a link to where to find them.

If you follow the main link for obtaining post-1920 service records mentioned above, you’ll find there’s a specific form for ex-RAF personnel.
