I have confused myself!

My real interest is in Letitia GOLDING, since she married James ARCHER/ORCHARD. James and Letitia were my 3xGGP.

Letitia's father was George GOLDING and her mother Elizabeth, whose birth name remains a mystery. George and Elizabeth as far as I can see had at least six children: Mary 1795, Martha 1798, Harriet 1801, George 1803, Thomas 1806 and Letitia 1807. So in fact I have misled people in that Martha is not my 4GGM, but 4GAunt.

I have deaths and associated burials in Whitchurch for George (1851) and Elizabeth (1840). But their marriage continues to elude me. I think George was baptised in 1768.

I have found baptisms in Whitchurch for all six children.

George and Letitia are reasonably well documented.

I thought I had cracked Martha, but it seems I may have made at least one assumption to many. I'm no longer sure whether she married or when she died.

Mary, Harriet and Thomas are not well documented, indeed I know nothing beyond their baptisms.

You could try searching the England, Phillimore Marriage Registers, 1531-1913 on FMP. They do contain some Whitchurch parish marriages circa 1800. They'll be in the Hampshire Marriage Register, Vol 8.

There's a marriage between a George Golding and an Elizabeth Emery in Halstead, Essex, Dec 1793; (she was bpt there 1771, parents Christopher and Frances). Probably unlikely, but I'd rather you dismiss it than I ignore it!

sdup26 - many thanks but this is not one of mine. George is fairly well documented, it is his siblings that are the problem.
