Bumpford Mystery

Postby Will Mundy » Sat Jun 15, 2019 8:21 pm

Good evening,

I’m trying to trace my 7th great grandmother Deborah Bumpford (-1759) she married my 7th great grandfather Richard Coombs (1725 - 1778) Deborah married Richard on 23 Sep 1743 in Eynsham Oxfordshire, their first son was baptised in Kingham on the 18 Sep 1743 so obviously had to get married, Richard was from Beckley, Oxfordshire and had several children with Deborah:
Richard 1743 - born in Kingham
Thomas 1745 - born in Hanborough, Oxfordshire
Elizabeth 1750 - Eynsham
Margaret 1751
Elizabeth 1753
Hannah 1755
John 1757

Deborah died in Eynsham in 1759,and Richard went on to marry 4 more times, one of which his whole family with one marriage died. I can find no trace of Deborah’s origins, and was wondering if anybody could help?

Any help would be much appreciated

As Eynsham is only about 7 miles from Stonesfield, could this family be related to Deborah?

Name: Mary Bumpford
