This is very, very tenuous.
In the 1881 census, at the House of William Roper an Alderman and Wines and Spirits Mechant who lived at "Southfields" South Road Lancaster, aprox 500 yds from Penny/Moor St was a Sarah J Elliott bn c. 1860 in Scotland. She was their cook. It would need to be checked very carefully but if nothing more convincing turns up it may be worth a follow up.

Yes it is

Not sure if the following is the correct family or not?

Samuel Elliott married Sarah Ann Elliott in Liverpool in 1853.
https://www.findmypast.com/transcript?i ... 000599/020

A marriage notice for this event was found in the Cheshire Marriage Bonds & Allegations.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FBJP-GWR

They had several sons and one daughter, Maria Lewis Elliott, born July Quarter 1861 in Liverpool.
The parents were dock labourers.

In 1871, they are still living in Liverpool, where he is a Master Lumper (spelling?).

Sarah Ann Elliott died in the December Quarter of 1875 in Liverpool according to the GRO.
I may have found information about her family if you are interested?
I can't find Samuel after 1871.

If I have the right person each time, she isnt consistent with her place of birth.

In the 1891 census her age is 30 & born Cheshire (no town mentioned)
In the 1901 census her age is given as 39 & born Chester
In the 1911 census her age is 51 & born Congleton

Have you ruled this one out?

Returning to the 1881census, and given that Sarah Ann gives her occupation as cotton spinner on her marriage cert., I found the following:-

Source Citation

Class: RG11; Piece: 3773; Folio: 102; Page: 28; GSU roll: 1341902

Name: Sarah Ann Elliott
Age: 16
Estimated birth year: abt 1865
Relationship to Head: Boarder
Gender: Female
Where born: Bolton, Lancashire, England
Civil Parish: Hindley
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England
Street address: 15 Stony Lane
Education:

Employment status:

View image
Occupation: Power Loom Weaver Cotton Mill
Registration district: Wigan
ED, institution, or vessel: 15
Neighbors:
Piece: 3773
Folio: 102
Page Number: 28
Household Members:
Name Age
William Walton 67
Mary Walton 57
Ellen Walton 18
Alice Walton 16
Sarah Ann Elliott 16
James Menzies 20
Sarah Ann Menzies 21

Nb her birthplace is given as Bolton and her birth c. 1865, but the occupation is similar to that on her marr. cert.

Hindley near Wigan, and is 45 miles from Lancaster which poses the question "How would they have met??"
Do the names William and Mary Walton mean anything to you? Have been unable to establish their marriage

This maybe right she could have been told wrongly where she was born and or wrong birth date I will look into this thank you

I have tried to follow the Walton Family prior to 1881 to no avail. They are as elusive as Sarah Ann!!
I must leave it to others now as my own Family Tree beckons. Best of luck.
